*PARENTS!!!
It is flu season and we are seeing a number of cases here. Please, if your child is having flu symptoms or you question if they are, KEEP THEM HOME. Flu symptoms include: fever, body aches, cough, runny nose, sore throat, headache, weakness, or fatigue. Please consult your physician for questions. Also, a student must be fever free for 24 hours without medication before returning to school. That also applies to vomitting and diarrhea.

*PARENTS:
Please report your child if they will not be able to attend school.  You can leave a message if you call before school or as always, you can leave the message with one of the secretaries.  On school delays, the office does report to work until about 9:30 AM, and on e-learning days (snow days) the office is closed. Scheduled e-learning days the office will be open.  Thank You!

School Delays:  if you are not notified by skylert about school delays or no school, please listen to local radio stations or any of the TV stations out of Indy.  If you need to confirm your phone number, please call the office.

Reminder: Please have your chromebooks charged before each day of school.

We have a pencil and paper machine for students to purchase items for $.75

YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CARRY A WATER BOTTLE TO CLASS OR HAVE ONE IN YOUR LOCKER, UNLESS YOU HAVE A DOCTOR'S NOTE ON FILE WITH NURSE.  HOODIES ARE BECOMING MORE OF A PROBLEM, SO IF YOU HAVE YOUR HOODIE ON DURING CLASS YOU WILL BE ASKED TO TAKE IT DOWN.

NO School on Friday April 19th to observe Good Friday

ILEARN starts on Monday April 22nd, please have your children rested and they will also need headphones or earbuds for the test.

1 package of colored pencils
3 ring binder for Math    6th grade RED,  7th grade  BLUE,  8th grade  GREEN
Index dividers for math binders (5 sections)

Teachers will provide a detailed list of class specific supplies for students the first day of school.




Student Information and Activities




GRANDPARENTS:  The YMCA if offering a FREE monthly support group dedicated to grandparents who are caregivers for their grandchildren.  We have information in the Middle School Office if you are interested, or you may call the YMCA at 765-860-8365.

The Taylor Band and Guard Boosters will be hosting Bowling for Band on Sunday May 5th at Heritage Lanes, located at 1301 W. Lincoln Rd.  The event will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.  Price is $20 which includes shoes and two hours of bowling.  $10 admisson for non-bowlers.  There will be door prizes, silent auction, raffles and a 50/50 drawing.  Register at Eventbrite.com for Bowling for Band to reserve your spot, as spaces are limited.  Payments will be due at the door.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sporting Events



4/18/19  Mr. Oliver will host an open gym for any interested girl wanting to play basketball on Monday/Wednesday from 3-5 until May 17th.

4/18/19   NO Eastern Golf meet at Chippendale on Friday April 19th, and there is NO reschedule date.









21st Century Scholars

Indiana’s 21st Century Scholars Program offers income-eligible Hoosier students up to four years of paid tuition at an eligible Indiana college or university after they graduate from high school. In middle and high school, 21st Century Scholars are connected to programs and resources to help them prepare for college. Once in college, Scholars receive support to complete their college degrees and connect to career opportunities.  For more information and to apply, click here.

You can enroll as a Scholar as early as 7th grade – but no later than June 30th of your 8th grade year.
